It’s been a while since I hosted a Mom’s night out with my friends, but man when we do that, it is such a nice escape from the everyday pace of taking care of our families around the clock. Moms need breaks too, and hosting a Mom’s Night Out/Galentine’s Party can be an easy way to give your friends just that.
These Galentine’s party food ideas will help you pull together a simple party to celebrate your girl friends. All of these recipes with maybe one indulgent exception can be made quickly to be enjoyed on their own or as an addition to charcuterie or a potluck meal.

All About Galentine’s Day
From the show Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is celebrated on February 13th. It’s not a replacement for Valentine’s, but really a chance to celebrate female friendships.
Whatever the origin, it’s a good excuse to hang out with your lady friends, eating fun food and enjoying each others’ company.
Brunch foods, charcuterie, easy party foods, and fun finger foods, and mini desserts are all great choices to add to your Galentine’s menu. If there’s lots of pink and chocolate and build-your-own sandwiches, all the better. Galentine’s does not need to feature the high-pressure expensive Valentine’s restaurant experience of overly fancy food and high prices. You’re hanging out with your friends after all!
Moms, all your lady friends. Dads can take the kids during the party, which your kids will love anyway (Dads always serve kids the fun foods moms disapprove of, am I right?!).
Think brunch foods, fun appetizers and charcuterie, stress-free build your own kind of small sandwiches, and cute desserts.
Just hanging out and enjoying each others’ friendship is plenty, but if you’d like a low-stress White Elephant is a fun add-on to your party. Keep it cheap–$10 or less, and wrap up one of your favorite treats you think another guest will enjoy. You could also decorate cupcakes or cookies (see the Samoa cookies and Lemon Buttermilk mini cakes below) as part of your party.
